How to Build an SDA Home

Developer Process

ADAPT are working with developers and investment capital across the country to create new and innovative housing projects that meet the needs of SDA Participants in our database and across the marketplace.

1. Talk to our team about your SDA Project

Talk to ADAPT about the scope of your investment and fill in a Project Expression of Interest form. This will provide us detailed information about the scope of your investment including what you wish to build and where your land is located.

2. Have your Project designed and approved.

After finalising your category, dwelling type and location we work with certified architects and SDA assessors to create a project that will be suitable for participants and a sustaninable investment in current market conditions.

3. Build and Promote your Project

While your building is under construction, ADAPT will promote your project to our constantly growing database of participants, SIL providers and Support Coordinators, building a waitlist of potential tenants interested in living in your SDA Home. ​

4. Finalise Project and Manage

When the project nearing completion ADAPT will register the dwelling for its relevant SDA category, finalise all tenancy and SIL relationships and facilitate the move-in process. ADAPT will then manage the active property over the life of the investment ensuring it remains compliant and sustainable.
