The Canopy’s Edge residences comprise five single storey homes that have been designed to meet the NDIS Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) Design Standard in the Robust or High Physical Support (HPS) category. These include two attached Robust dwellings, two attached HPS dwellings and one detachedHPS home. Most homes incorporate room for Onsite Overnight Accommodation (OOA) and the residences share access to a central communal open space including a hydrotherapy pool.
The homes have been designed to take advantage of Cairn’s tropical climate, with outdoor and indoor living spaces facing north, and opportunities for cross ventilation throughout.
Lush tropical planting and generous eaves provide shade and cooling.
All HPS and Robust bedrooms have their own private ensuite, with additional bedrooms and OOAs serviced by a separate bathroom. Residents will enjoy generous kitchen, dining and
living spaces with direct and step-free access to covered outdoor terrace spaces and leafy gardens. The designs aim to maximise storage and functionality with large robes and custom built cabinetry, while maintaining a focus on creating homes, not institutions. We endeavour where possible to provide best practice design outcomes over and above minimum compliance requirements. We hope that residents will discover a new standard of living in the Canopy’s Edge residences.
